The yellow bikes celebrating the Tour de France in Briton were everywhere in York and Leeds -- pretty cool.
We were table mates with a Brit couple on the first leg of our QE2 voyage to NZ. It turns out that Michael and Angela have a flat in Leeds and were in the area to see their children and the Tour de France. We were able to meet them for coffee at Beningbrough Hall between Leeds and York. The Hall coffee shop was not open that early. So, we went to the Farm Cafe nearby. It was like we had dinner together the night before instead of over a year ago. Good friends catch up quickly. They stayed on to tour the Hall. But, we were on another critical mission -- replace the @#&$ing dead computer.
More yellow in Leeds!
We had researched our options for replacing the Mac and found a new Apple store in the Trinity Leeds mall. The mall is fairly new but located near the city centre. It took us a few tries to find a car park in the vicinity of where we thought the Apple store might be -- 2 small town foreigners in the big city. We had envisioned a nice mall with a parking lot in the low traffic burbs -- WRONG! It was however a nice mall in an otherwise historic area.

We found the Apple store.
Tom hates to part with his Mac and, more so, with the money for the new one.
The before and after. We upgraded to a MacBook Air. But, with a Brit keyboard which takes some getting used to.
Back to York to end a long day.
