Friday, July 4 2014, Hadrian's Wall, England

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!  We celebrated in the country from which we won our independence, traveling from York north to the area of Hadrian's Wall.  After a great breakfast at Carlton House, picking up our laundry, and fighting the York traffic, we moved on to a more rural area.

The roads get narrower.

The lorries get closer.

And the road gets even smaller.

And the area more rural.

We get mildly lost, wander around in the rain for for a while, resort to asking directions from a kind Englishman, and finally find the drive way to Bush Nook B&B.

A nice little country B&B with a hot tub under the shed.

A nice little sun room in the common area with an honor bar with excellent ales.

The view over the rock wall from the back patio.

After unloading the All Black, we settle in for a little catchup blogging.  The WiFi only works in the common area.  So, we spend a lot of time in the sun room.

We make an early night of it after a dinner of Yorkshire cheese and crackers.  On to Hadrian's Wall tomorrow.
