Today's post will be "a picture is worth 1,000 words"......for two reasons:
REASON #1
Our first stop was to take advantage of a Christmas gift which Tom and I gave David and McKenzie last year. Four tickets to this game......They kindly saved the tickets and we all went together!!! I'm unable to tell you anything about it.....other than it was a total blast, a great fun time, an intense team building test filled with discovery, stress, logic, and total frustration!!!!!! You have one hour to get out of a locked room.....that's all I can say.....we didn't QUITE make it....one step away....but we are RETURNING on Wednesday to a different "room" to try again.....with all there is to do in London, does that tell you how fun it was? They haven't yet found the " proper person" to own the franchise in the States....
Can't imagine biking in this city, but thousands do. This is the entrance to the tube, the underground
Ho-hum for these two, but Tom and I are pumped for our first ride underground. Our Brit kids prefer the bus just to have something to see. I agree with them, but nonetheless, occasionally the tube is more efficient. Don't know how many of you have ridden the NY subway OR the London tube, but just like the train and the busses here, the tube is spotless!!!! David commented that on a Saturday night, this is not the case, but quickly cleaned up by Sunday morning. We are loving London!
REASON #2
Our second destination.....The Burrough Market....we were warned, but still not prepared for what is to follow!!!!! Enjoy and eat with your eyes! We had pasties, coffee, goat ice cream, meat pie and scotch egg with sweet potato fries.....every morsel was delicious.....
A feast for all the senses!!!
Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures within the sanctuary; it was exquisite and filled with history, ornate statues, effigies of famous Brits. We had planned to stay for Evensong, but we learned that there would be no choir this time, so decided to get back out on the streets. By the way, Southwark Cathedral is adjacent to the Burrough Market......a delicious 3 hour visit.
There IS a driver who steers, but the passengers pedal the power!
We stood on London Bridge to get a good picture of the Tower Bridge
McKenzie and David carrying home our dinner.....Kenz made a delicious, creamy mushroom risotto.....regretfully, I forgot to take a picture.....it was a huge pot, but there is only 1 TBS left! Another perfect day and night!!!!
